Winter weather will stretch from California to Michigan today, prompting storm warning. Midwest thunderstorms may bring severe weather, while strong winds will span across the Southern corridor into the Ohio Valley.
A vast stretch of winter weather will span from the West into the upper Midwest on Wednesday.
Snow is forecast over southwestern, central and northeastern Utah; eastern Idaho, southern Montana, Wyoming, central Colorado; north-central New Mexico; western South Dakota and south-central North Dakota.
Heavy snow is forecast for portions of Wyoming, Nebraska, South Dakota and Minnesota.
Freezing rain and ice storms are possible for portions of South Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin and northern Michigan.
Mixed precipitation is forecast over most of California, Oregon, parts of Washington, northern Idaho, all of Nevada, most of Utah, northern Arizona, western and northeastern Colorado, south-central Wyoming, western and northern Nebraska, eastern South Dakota, southeastern North Dakota, throughout Minnesota, northern Wisconsin and northern Michigan. In the Northeast, a wintry mix is forecast for northern Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine.

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a warning over possible severe thunderstorms for parts of north-central Oklahoma, eastern Kansas and West-central Missouri on Wednesday.

Windy conditions will increase the risk of fire danger from the Southwest to the Midwest.
