Winter Storm Warning for portions of New York and Pennsylvania

Winter weather advisory for portions of Vermont, New York, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Virginia, Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, California, Oregon, and Washington.

Coastal flood warning: Delaware, eastern Maryland, New Jersey, southeastern Pennsylvania.

Coastal flood advisory: New Jersey, North Carolina, Virginia.

Red flag warnings for portions of Nevada, Arizona, Utah, Colorado, New Mexico, South Dakota, Nebraska and Iowa.

High wind warning and wind advisories for portions of Oregon, California, Nevada, Montana, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, Minnesota and Iowa.

Above average temperatures forecast for May

Most of the Western US, South-Central US, and South can anticipate above-average temperatures for May, according to the latest predictions from the weather company. The upper Midwest and Eastern US will see average temperatures, with above-average temperatures for most of the Northeast. Parts of the Southwest including Nevada, Utah, Arizona, southeastern California, New Mexico, and most of Texas, will see significantly above-average temperatures in May.

Here is the latest 3-day forecast from the National Weather Service (NWS).

Monday: Heavy snow, freezing rain, thunderstorms in East

The upper Midwest, Ohio Valley, mid-Atlantic, and Northeast will see a wintry mix, with heavy snow over parts of Pennsylvania and New York, and snow over northern Michigan.

Thunderstorms for parts of the mid-Atlantic, mid-South, and Southeast from New Jersey to Florida, and inland into Kentucky, Alabama, and Tennessee.

In the West, thunderstorms along the coast of Washington and Oregon, with rain for Northern California. The states will also see a wintry mix expanding into Nevada, Idaho, and Montana parts.

Strong winds over much of the Western US and parts of the upper Midwest, with red flag warnings over several states, including Nevada, Arizona, Utah, New Mexico, Colorado, Nebraska, Iowa, and South Dakota.

Tuesday: Heavy snow, wintry mix, thunderstorms, fire risk

Patches of mixed precipitation will stretch from West to East across the northern tier of the US. Heavy snow over portions of Pennsylvania and New York. Thunderstorms in the Midwest from Texas to North Dakota. Critical fire weather is possible over portions of Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, and Colorado.

Wednesday: Thunderstorms, fire risk

Mixed precipitation in the West over California, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and Montana, as well as over the upper Midwest.

Thunderstorms for parts of the South, Midwest, mid-South, and Ohio Valley.

Potential critical fire weather over parts of Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas.
