A series of winter storms will move across the US this week, bringing snow, sleet, freezing rain, as well as severe weather and the threat of flooding to the Ohio Valley and the southern US. Here is the three-day forecast.

Series of winter storms will bring heavy snow, ice, flooding rain this week

A series of significant cross-country storms will bring a variety of impacts ranging from snow, ice, and rain from the West to the East. At the same time, southern regions will face flooding rain and severe weather, AccuWeather reported.

Blizzard conditions are possible early in the week in the Dakotas and parts of Minnesota, the Washington Post reported. Parts of the South, Tennessee Valley, and Southeast will see heavy rain and severe thunderstorms, potentially bringing flooding damaging winds, and a few tornadoes cannot be ruled out. According to the National Weather Service (NWS), the northern plains and upper Midwest could see temperatures about 20 to 40 degrees below normal and threatened record cold readings according to National Weather Service (NWS).
