Multiple rounds of severe weather throughout the week will impact parts of the West, Midwest, South and Ohio Valley, while much above average temperatures are poised to break records across the West and Southwest.
Here are the latest weather alerts from the National Weather Service (NWS) for Monday.
Flood warning: southeastern Kansas.
Excessive heat watch: California deserts; northern, central and southern Arizona.
Heat advisory: southeastern New Mexico; central, western and southern Texas.
Red flag warning: central and western Texas.
Thunderstorms throughout the week will bring multiple outbreaks of severe weather through at least Thursday, the Weather Channel reported.
The Storm Prediction Center (SPC) has issued a Level 2 severe weather risk over three separate storm fronts on Monday.
Outbreak #1: northeastern Wyoming and along the Montana border; west-central and southwestern South Dakota; northwestern, central and southwestern Nebraska over the north-central Kansas border.
Outbreak #2: southeastern Colorado, southwestern Kansas, the western Oklahoma Panhandle, northern Texas.
Outbreak #3: northeastern Arkansas, northern Mississippi, western Tennessee, southeastern Missouri, southern Illinois, western Kentucky and southern Indiana.
The SPC issued a Level 2 severe weather risk for central and southern Nebraska, central and western Kansas, eastern Colorado, northeastern New Mexico, western Oklahoma and northern Texas.
The National Weather Service (NWS) is warning of heavy rain with potential flash flooding for southeastern Kansas, central and eastern Oklahoma, southwestern Missouri and northwestern Arkansas.
The first front is a Level 1 marginal severe weather risk including portions of southeastern Colorado, eastern New Mexico and northern Texas.
The second front is a Level 1 risk over southeastern Kansas, eastern Oklahoma, southern Missouri, central and northern Arkansas, western Kentucky, central and western Tennessee, northern Mississippi and northern Alabama.
A Level 2 severe weather risk over south-central South Dakota, central Nebraska, into northern, northwestern and central Kansas.
June is wrapping up the heat ahead of the first official day of summer, with much above-average temperatures for parts of the West and Southwest, with parts of the upper Midwest and South also seen above-average temperatures, according to the latest forecast by the NOAA Climate Prediction Center. The Ohio Valley, mid-Atlantic and Northeast will see slightly below-average temperatures, as will the Pacific Northwest, with much below average temps for Washington.
The Southwest will see temperatures well above the century mark throughout the week, and on Friday triple-digit heat will also reach some northern regions of the West with Sacramento hitting 106 and Fresno at 105, the Weather Channel reported.
