At least 3 days of severe weather are in the forecast this week for the southern tier as thunderstorms move from the central US to the east this week, according to the 3-day forecast from the NWS.
On Monday, thunderstorms over parts of the Southwest, southern Plains, Midwest, and South will bring severe weather to parts of Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and Arkansas, and heavy rain and flash flooding.
On Tuesday, thunderstorms moved slightly east to include the South, Southeast, mid-South, and Ohio Valley. Potential severe weather over parts of Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and the Florida Panhandle. A larger area of potentially heavy rain and flash flooding will affect parts of Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, Tennessee, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, and Kentucky.
On Wednesday, thunderstorms across the South, Southeast, Ohio Valley, and mid-Atlantic will bring the threat of severe weather over northern Florida, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Virginia.
Multiple days of freezing rain over the northern tier of the US this week, according to the 3-day forecast from the NWS. On Monday, potential freezing rain over the regions of the north of Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Michigan. On Tuesday, the area of possible freezing rain expands to the central portions of the aforementioned states. On Wednesday, the freezing rain moves east over portions of Michigan, New York, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine.
On Monday, snow in the West over portions of Montana, Wyoming, Nebraska, Colorado with heavy snow empty southeast corner and into Northeastern Arizona and northern New Mexico.
There is snow for portions of New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine in the east.
On Tuesday, snow over portions of Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Utah, Colorado, and New Mexico.
No snow in the forecast for Wednesday, but mixed precipitation in the Northwest and the Midwest, Great Lakes region, and Northeast.
