Widespread Severe Weather and Flood Threat for South, Snow for Northeast

A warning over the threat of widespread severe weather and flooding in the South has been issued by the National Weather Service; Snow is forecast for the upper Midwest, with heavy snow over New York and New England.

Widespread potential flooding and severe weather outbreak in the South

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued multiple warnings over the threat of widespread potential flooding and the severe weather outbreak in the South on Wednesday. The threats will stretch from Louisiana to North Carolina.

The National Weather Service is also warning of widespread potential flooding over south to include southern Louisiana, southern/central/northeastern Alabama, western and northern Georgia, southeastern Tennessee, northwestern South Carolina and southwestern North Carolina. (*See NWS alerts below)

Severe weather outbreak

The National Weather Service (NWS) has forecast the outbreak of possible severe thunderstorms over Southeast Louisiana, Southern Mississippi, the Western Florida Panhandle, southern and central Alabama, central and northern Georgia, South Carolina, and southern and southeast North Carolina.

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a number of flood warnings and watches for Wednesday in the South.

Flash flood warning: northern Mississippi; central and northern Alabama, northern and central Georgia; middle and eastern Tennessee; northwest South Carolina; western North Carolina; western Virginia; southwest West Virginia; eastern Kentucky

Flash flood watch: northern Mississippi; central Alabama; northern Georgia; south-central Tennessee.

Flood warning: western Tennessee.

NWS weather alerts for Northeast with potential heavy snow over New York, New England

The National Weather Service (NWS) has forecast heavy snow in some parts of the Northeast, including eastern New York and Western New England areas. Possible mixed precipitation is forecast over parts of the eastern Ohio Valley, mid-Atlantic and Northeast on Wednesday.

The NWS has the following alerts for winter-related weather on Wednesday.

Winter weather advisory: Pennsylvania, New York and Vermont.

Winter storm warning: Potential heavy snow over eastern New York and western New England areas.

Upper Midwest and Ohio Valley to see snow and a wintry mix

The NWS has forecast snow Snow over portions of the upper Midwest on Wednesday including northeast Iowa, southeast Minnesota, central and northern Wisconsin, into northern Michigan.

The NWS is forecasting wintry mix over parts of northern Illinois, central and northern Indiana, Michigan, central and eastern Ohio, as well as portions of eastern Kentucky, West Virginia, and western Virginia.
