Freeze warnings extend across the US from New Mexico to Pennsylvania as wintry weather moves east over the next 2 days, while red flag warnings have been issued for 4 states in the West and 3 states in the southeast.
Several storm fronts will bring wintry weather to various spots across the nation on Wednesday with mixed precipitation in some areas and snow and others, according to today’s forecast by the National Weather Service (NWS).
In the West, snow is forecast over portions of Wyoming, Utah, Colorado and New Mexico. Mixed precipitation is forecast over portions of California, Nevada, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Utah and Colorado.
In the Midwest, mixed precipitation is forecast over portions of Nebraska and Kansas.
In the central US and East, mixed precipitation is forecast for portions of the upper Midwest, Ohio Valley, Southeast, mid-South, mid-Atlantic and Northeast.
Portions of northern New York and northern Vermont could see heavy snow.

Red flag warning: Arizona, southern Utah, southeastern Colorado, Eastern New Mexico; southeastern Georgia; South Carolina; western North Carolina.
The NWS has forecast the possibility of severe thunderstorms along the Atlantic coast spanning from North Carolina to Massachusetts.
